Private links, no public feed
Every video gets an unguessable link. Nothing is listed in a catalog, search page or recommendation feed, so viewers only see what you send them.
Private video hosting
Upload once and share finished video through private links with an ad-free 4K player. Add a password or an expiry date, keep embeds on your own domains, and let the right people download the exact original file.

Everything private hosting should include
VodSpot combines the access controls of a secure file share with the playback of a professional video platform — and leaves out the ads, comments and public audience.
Every video gets an unguessable link. Nothing is listed in a catalog, search page or recommendation feed, so viewers only see what you send them.
Put a password in front of a delivery page when the link alone is not enough. Viewers enter it once — no account or sign-up needed.
Set the date when access ends, or revoke a delivery immediately when a project closes or a link travels further than it should.
VodSpot prepares HLS renditions up to 4K from eligible sources, so playback starts fast and stays sharp on slow and fast connections alike.
Viewers watch an optimized stream, but downloads deliver the exact file you uploaded — same resolution, codec and bitrate.
Upload SRT or WebVTT files and viewers can turn captions on in share pages, embeds and client delivery pages.
Private vs unlisted
On public platforms, “unlisted” usually means a video is hidden from search but still lives inside an audience product built around recommendations, comments and ads. Anyone with the link can pass it on, and the platform decides what plays next.
VodSpot has no audience side at all. There is no public catalog, no channel page and no autoplay into someone else’s content. A video can only be reached through the private link or embed you publish — and you can put a password, an expiry date or a domain restriction in front of it.
Stream vs download
Most video platforms keep only a re-compressed copy of what you upload. VodSpot keeps two things apart: adaptive HLS renditions for fast browser playback, and the exact file you uploaded for downloading.
That matters when a client needs the master for broadcast, a festival submission or their own archive. You decide for each delivery whether downloads are allowed, and every download is recorded.
Embeds
Use the ad-free VodSpot player on a portfolio, a course page or a client portal. Add your website domains in workspace settings and the embed only loads inside those pages; opened anywhere else, the player refuses to play.
It is a practical guard against your player being reused on sites you never approved. When every viewer must be controlled, combine it with password-protected delivery pages.
Compare
Public platforms and cloud drives are great at what they were built for. Private client and team video needs a different mix.

How it works
Drag in finished files of any size. Uploads resume automatically if the connection drops.
VodSpot inspects the file and prepares adaptive renditions up to 4K, plus a poster frame.
Choose a password, an expiry date, download permissions and subtitle tracks.
Send the link or embed it, then follow views, watch time and downloads.
Use cases
Wedding films, brand videos and commercials delivered on a clean branded page instead of a cloud folder. See client video delivery.
Festival screeners and unreleased edits shared with an expiry date and no public trace. See video hosting for filmmakers.
Product demos, investor updates and internal announcements that should never sit on a public channel. See private video hosting for business.
Lessons embedded on your own course site and restricted to your domain. See video hosting for education.
Pre-release music videos and live sessions for labels, press and collaborators. See video hosting for musicians.
Interviews and embargoed material shared with editors before anything is published. See video hosting for publishers.
Choosing a platform
Start with the job the video has to do. If you need an audience, discovery and comments, a public platform is the right tool. If the video is finished work for a specific client, team or group of learners, you need the opposite: a host that keeps it out of sight, plays it beautifully and lets you decide who can keep watching.
Then check four things. Access control: can you add a password, set an expiry date and revoke a link instantly? Playback: does the player stream adaptively up to 4K without ads or suggested videos? Delivery: can the recipient download the exact original file rather than a re-compressed copy? Presentation: can the page carry your brand — and, on paid plans, your own domain?
Finally, look at how storage is counted and what happens after the project ends. VodSpot counts storage by the size of the files you upload, keeps the stream and the original together, and charges no bandwidth overage fees for normal use. FAQ
You can mark a YouTube video as private or unlisted, but it still lives on a public, ad-supported platform. Private videos require each viewer to sign in with an invited Google account, and unlisted videos can be forwarded by anyone who has the link. VodSpot is built for the opposite case: no public side at all, passwords and expiry dates on the link, and exact original downloads.
Every VodSpot link uses a long random token, so it can’t be guessed, and nothing on the web links to it unless you publish it. For sensitive work, add a password, set an expiry date and revoke the delivery when the project ends. See secure video hosting for the full set of controls.
No. Recipients open the link, enter the password if you set one, and watch in the browser on desktop or mobile.
Yes, when you allow it. Delivery pages can offer the exact file you uploaded — same resolution and codec — while the page itself streams an optimized version. Every download is recorded in the delivery activity.
Yes. Upload SRT or WebVTT subtitle files in as many languages as you need; viewers can switch them on in the player on share pages, embeds and delivery pages.
Yes. On paid plans you can list the domains where your embeds are allowed. Browsers then refuse to show the VodSpot player on any other site, and opening the embed address directly doesn’t play the video either.
There are no ads, no recommended videos and no bandwidth overage fees for normal use. Plans are priced by storage — start with a free trial and choose Solo, Pro or Studio when you’re ready. See pricing.
