Create a project

Uploading videos
Uploads and processing
Open a project, go to its Videos tab and drag in your files. VodSpot accepts all common video formats — MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, AVI, MXF, MPEG, MTS/M2TS and more — and handles very large masters, up to 5 TB per file.
Files are uploaded in parts directly to storage. If your connection drops, the upload continues from the last finished part instead of starting over. Keep the browser tab open until the upload completes.
After the upload, VodSpot builds adaptive streaming versions from 480p up to 4K, depending on the source resolution. Playback starts once the video shows the Ready status. The original file is stored exactly as you uploaded it and is never recompressed.
Client delivery
Delivery pages
A project can have several delivery pages — for example one for the client, one per festival, one per journalist — each with its own link, password, expiry date, language and statistics. In the Delivery tab choose the videos to include, add a cover image, and decide what the client can do: watch only, or also download the exact original files of the videos you choose.
Protect the page with a password and, if you need to, an expiry date. When everything looks right, publish — VodSpot creates the client link. Revoking a delivery disables that link immediately; publishing it again turns the same link back on.
You receive an email when a client first opens a delivery and when files are downloaded, plus a reminder three days before a delivery expires, and the project’s Analytics tab shows views, watch time, completion and download history. Read more about client video delivery and delivery analytics.
Sharing and embeds
Share links, embeds and subtitles
Any ready video can be shared with a private link or embedded on a website with the responsive embed code from the video menu. The player has no ads, no other platform’s logo and no suggested videos.
On every paid plan you can restrict embeds to the domains you approve in workspace settings — up to 25 domains, with wildcards such as *.yourstudio.com. On any other website the player stays blank. See video embed hosting for details.
Upload subtitles as SRT or WebVTT files, one track per language, and set a custom poster frame for each video. Both appear in share links, embeds and delivery pages.
Team and roles
Working as a team
Invite people from the Team page. Invitations stay valid for 7 days and can be resent. Solo includes 1 seat, Pro includes up to 5 and Studio up to 20.
- Owner — full control of the workspace, billing and members.
- Admin — manages workspace settings, members and all projects.
- Editor — creates and manages projects, uploads videos and prepares deliveries.
- Viewer — watches projects without changing them.
Branding and domains
Your brand and your domain
Add your logo and brand colors in workspace settings, and delivery pages will carry your identity instead of ours. On Pro and Studio you can also hide the “Powered by VodSpot” footer.
On Pro and Studio you can put delivery pages on your own subdomain, such as films.yourstudio.com. Add the DNS record shown in settings; VodSpot verifies ownership and issues the TLS certificate automatically. More on white-label video hosting.
Account and billing
Trial, plans and your account
Every workspace starts with a 7-day trial with 5 GB of storage and no card required. Choose a plan in Settings before the trial ends: if no plan is selected, uploaded videos are removed 3 days after the trial ends. The same 3-day window applies when a paid subscription ends or a payment fails: the workspace becomes read-only, and renewing within 3 days keeps everything. Each month you can upload new videos up to half of your plan storage — the full storage in your first month, and six times your storage per year on annual billing. The sidebar shows how much you have used and when it renews.
Plans are billed monthly or annually — annual billing costs 10 months instead of 12. If you need more space, add 250 GB of extra storage at any time. Invoices, payment methods and cancellation are managed in the billing portal linked from Settings. Compare plans on the pricing page.
Settings also includes your password, two-factor authentication with recovery codes, active sessions you can sign out remotely, notification preferences, and workspace controls to archive, restore or delete a workspace.

Frequently asked questions
Which video formats can I upload?
All common formats, including MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, AVI, MXF, MPEG and MTS/M2TS, up to 5 TB per file.
Why can’t I share a video yet?
The video is still processing. Sharing, embedding and delivery become available as soon as it shows the Ready status.
Does VodSpot compress my original file?
No. Streaming versions are created for playback, while the original stays exactly as uploaded and can be downloaded from a delivery.
How do I stop a client link from working?
Open the project’s Delivery tab and revoke the delivery. The link stops working immediately.
Will I know when a client downloads the files?
Yes. VodSpot sends you an email when files are downloaded from a delivery, and the download history stays in project analytics.
How many people can join my workspace?
Solo includes 1 seat, Pro up to 5 and Studio up to 20.
What happens when my trial ends?
Choose a plan to keep working. Without a plan, uploaded videos are removed 3 days after the trial ends.
